Arrival: Arrive at Bandaranaike International Airport (Katunayake), where you’ll be greeted by our Akagi Experiences representative.

Transfer: Enjoy a private, air-conditioned vehicle for the approximately 4-hour drive to a traditional village stay near Sigiriya. Along the way, admire Sri Lanka’s rural beauty, including paddy fields and tea plantations.

Accommodation: Settle into your eco-friendly village retreat featuring thatched roofs and modern comforts.

Village Walk: In the afternoon, take a guided walk through the village, visiting local farms and artisans, and exploring an ancient temple nestled amidst coconut groves.

Dinner: Savor a traditional Sri Lankan dinner with dishes like rice and curry, sambols, and fish curry.

Sigiriya Rock Fortress: Start the day with a hearty breakfast, then visit Sigiriya, one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic sites. Hike the 1,200-foot rock, marveling at ancient frescoes, the Lion’s Gate, and sweeping views from the summit.

Lunch: Enjoy a delicious meal at a local restaurant.

Dambulla Cave Temples: Continue to Dambulla, about an hour’s drive away, to visit the Dambulla Cave Temples, featuring over 150 Buddha statues and murals dating back to the 1st century BCE.

Cooking Demo: In the evening, participate in an optional cooking demonstration where you’ll learn to prepare classic Sri Lankan dishes.

Overnight: Stay in a hotel in Dambulla.

Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage: Begin the day with a visit to the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage (~1.5 hours away). Watch the elephants feed and bathe in the Maha Oya river—a heartwarming experience.

Kandy Tour: Afterward, travel to Kandy (~2 hours), Sri Lanka’s last royal capital. Visit the Temple of the Tooth Relic, a sacred Buddhist site, and stroll around Kandy Lake.

Shopping: Explore local markets for souvenirs like batik textiles, wood carvings, and spices.

Departure: In the late afternoon, take a private transfer back to Bandaranaike Airport (~4 hours) for your departure flight.
